Trouble with foam board

Thanks guys. You've given me a lot to think about. I believe that what I'm going to do is back down to foil-faced 1/2" polyiso, put it in layers, and apply it in smaller tiles or strips when necessary. As to glue, I'm thinking I may stick (no pun intended) to the spray adhesive for ease of use. If that doesn't work, I may take some of the sterner measures mentioned here.

The difference in covering a 4x8ft area (32 sqft) with 2 layers of flexible 1/2" Polyiso and messing around trying to force the 1" rigid Polyiso is less than $4. How much will that really set you back in the saving of time and effort?

That's what I'm doing now. It wasn't a money issue, just a questions of what I'd seen people doing online. Most people seemed to be using 1" foam board without trouble but I just couldn't make it work.

I'm currently about 1/3 of the way through insulating with 1/2" board and it still is troublesome but better. I'm using broad strips instead of single panels and it seems to be working, more or less.

Because of my physical challenges, level of effort is still the biggest thing for me.
