I can't store a scooter under the bedroom while on the road. But I can put a scooter in the bed of a truck or inside a van.

However, I can solve that whole conundrum by opening up the backside and turning it into a toy hauler.

No need to open it up as you say, if it is a scooter...(like a Vespa).

Why not just put a sheet of cardboard down on the floor, and bring it right inside the trailer and strap it down like you would a toyhauler. It doesn't need a 'special door' if you're only gonna move it once or twice.

btw...if that's the case, then I'd go looking for a 5th wheel. Not only are they roomier than a TT in the long run, but once you've got it parked, you can wrap a tarp around the front creating a mini-garage to keep your scooter and BBQ in.

First I want to say I have no real expertise at any of this. But I would consider all these responses as really good. There are reasons 5th wheel trailers are popular, they have quite a bit of room and lots of storage for fulltimers. Read up on all the winterizing posts around the blogs, it was an eyeopener for me, I live in Hawaii. Your plan to hire someone to move your trailer will work for a while but you may eventually want to do it yourself at will. Your friend who desires occasional solitude points to a 5th wheel some of which are much like little apartments with essentially separate rooms. Its amazing how spacious they are. And there are many for sale used.
For several years now I have read these posts and the many blogs fulltimers create and see that the one thing standing out is that everyone and their needs are different.

Good plan, let it evolve. There are no real clear figures, but around 1 million people full time and travel around the country, probably more.
