Up until now I've always had pickup trucks as tow vehicles.  From a 4x4 ranger to a GMC 1 ton dually, pulling from 10ft to 40ft trailers of one kind or another.

Now with the Safari I'm stumped on where to secure the electrical plug for the trailer lights when it's not being used for towing.  I know this may/does sound silly.  My trucks have always had big metal bumpers or headache racks to secure/tuck away the towing light wires/plugs.  Now the Safari has a 1/2 metal bumper in the middle with a treaded rubber/plastic/fiberglass?? top......and a fiberglass?  Wrap around side, going from one side to the other.

I know I'm not using the the correct names of the bumper parts,  however I'd like to know them.  I'll hate to just bungee cord the wires to the bumper........I will if that's my only option.          Any input is appreciated

My 4 pin is just looped around my hitch ball, but for an RV connector I'd go under the bumper with a bracket, or through the bumper

Pictures?

The plug for my Yukon hitch is attached under the bumper, to either the bottom of the bumper or to the frame/hitch

Ditto on my F250

a flat 4 wire connector is easy just let it hang between the hitch and bumper. just make sure it can't flop around and hit the ground. an RV plug(7-way) is a little more complicated. you need to mount it so it will not hit the ground, so under the hitch is a no no. you need to mount it under the bumper so the hitch protects it or mount it in the bumper. also get a connector that plugs into the stock harness not one that you need to cut the stock harness. highdesertranger

I originally mounted the connector to the bottom of the "bumper" (just part of the fiberglass rear end) on my motorhome, but it scraped off when I crossed a wash to get to a camping place. It's now bungeed up behind the bumper, where it rarely gets unplugged. (I unhitch at the car side of the tow bar.)

With 4 pin and center license plate I keep wiring up above and if necessary drill a hole behind license plate and grommet, a lot of times there is an opening there already and just tuck the plug and extra wiring behind plate if not in use.

Thanks Everyone,

I have a dual hook up with 7 pin round and either a 4 or 5 pin flat.  I bought it at Napa in Mariana FL when I picked up the Aliner so I'd have lights to get home in AL with.  I'm hoping to use it.  I got it at Napa.  Maybe I can find the covered outlet it will fit into.  I'll check around and see.

Thanks Again
