Hello everyone!

After years and years of dreaming and thinking about this lifestyle….

Not to mention the countless hours upon hours of lurking on forums, blogs, and websites reading everything that I could about this lifestyle…

I've decided to take the first few steps in reaching out and joining the community of van dwellers and those that choose not live a “mainstream” life!

My hope is that I can start putting these “goals” of mine into some sort of action plan instead of having them bounce around my head teasing me constantly!

Welcome to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

Hello SMOJ, and Welcome to the forum!!

This is a great board, and we have a great crew on here. There's a ton of knowledge and information to be learned on here, so ask any questions you may have.

Where are you located?? Do you have a van or preferred rig already, or are you on the search for one??
Obviously, you have a doggy friend...what's his/her name?? We have lotsa pet owners on here too.

What kinda work do you do?? Any kids??

Hello from the Oregon Coast!

Thank you for the welcome Patrick46 !

All great questions! Let's see...

Currently I'm living in Texas.

No van or rig yet. I'm still in the dreaming/scheming phase. I'm not searching for one as I don't have the funds but I do ALLOT of window shopping haha!

My doggie's name is Boudreaux and he's the best dog I've ever had.

I'm a nontraditional student in college, but losing my steam to finish. Long story, maybe I'll get into it one day.

No kids.

Thanks for the questions!

Welcome! We're glad you are here and want to help in any way we can!

Most people find getting rid of excess stuff the hardest thing to do when becoming a vandweller. I'd suggest starting with that right now! As it starts to disappear you will fell better and better.

Plus, the longer you have to work on it the more money you can make by selling stuff--letting you get your van even sooner!

Thank you Bob!

I definitely do need to get rid of allot of stuff. It's amazing what a person can accumulate over the years!
