THERE WILL NOT BE A SUMMER RTR

My mom needs me too much to take the risk of driving back to Arizona for a month. She is sure to decline so I do not want to miss out on this time with her when she is still at her best. That would haunt me for the rest of my life.

However, a winter RTR just like we have always done in the past is a 100% certainty.

Enjoy the time with her to the fullest!
I'm doing the same here , many good memories created and some now on video so I will have them for the future without her.

Thanks for the update. Do what you've gotta do.

There are priorities.  Mom comes first ALWAYS.

No worries, you have a great crew of moderators.

Make memories.  I wish I haad been able to. ~~~

My mom is 89 so I take the time to drive to see her every week when I am home. My prayers and thoughts are with you Bob.

As someone who was planning on spending as much time as possible this summer in England with my grandad because I knew my grandparents didn't have too many more years, take that time. Sadly my grandad passed away two weeks ago, and only two months before my scheduled trip to see him. I know I can't change that and I know my plans had good intent and I thought I might have a few more months...but I didn't. Time with family is precious and far more important than anything else. God bless and enjoy the time you have with her.

Take that time with her, bob, sometimes i chafed a bit at my weekly visits to my mom in the nursing home, but now she's gone I'm glad of every visit
So many of those folks never see their families

I hope you and your mother have a wonderful summer.

^^^^  This.

Lots of us have been where you are, and I don't know a single person who regretted that time.  I sure miss my mom.

Bob, absolutely the best decision to make for you and your mom!! Wow, a leader compassion and values!!! I am so glad I'm apart of this gro, I have Leonardo much, which in turn, I've given that info out to others :)

Best regards to you and your Mother..

Rob

I totally get that Bob. I didn't make it in time for my mom and it haunted me so badly I had several breakdowns. I got almost a year with my dad before he died. Best decision I ever made.

I had finally moved across country to Oregon in 2009. Short time later my grandmother fell and became housebound. Decided to move back to spend time with her as Dr's said her days were limited. Well, she made it another 2 years, but in those two years I got to know her better than the previous 30. I also got Lyme disease when I moved home and it's changed the course of my life forever and I don't regret a single part of my decisions.

Hope you have a great summer with her, I can guarantee you it's something you'll be glad you did for the rest of your life.
