It's not like you would use the four wheel van for rock crawling...I believe it is a very worthy investment for what they offer, if you want to keep the vanability of a van...

I dream about it all the time, and I fully intend on having mine converted one day.

I want it mainly for the snow and mud that would occur in the Twisp are of Washington state, and for the ability to drive over fallen debris. I am a bit of a prepper, and having 4x4 is pretty darn necessary for a bug out vehicle type situation.

There are plenty of videos online of 4x4 vans doing their wheeling. Of course, having the option, lets you get even further from help if you need it...

I would just use mine for the slight off roading. Hiking further out, and having a dirt bike is something I want too...I want a whole lot of things attached to my van and future off road trailer! I am 28 years old...I have many years to get my new lifestyle in full swing, or full wheeling.

And the U-Joint Offroad company offers all of the indivdual pieces to start your own simple four-wheel conversions. Four wheel does not mean jacked up 6 inches in the air...but you can, if you want! Their packages start at something like $4000.

My van cost $1200.

If I had bought the U-Joint package I want, at the same time as the van, I would have a 4x4 van for the tiny sum of only $8200...that is a steal.

I would never throw away the cash on a fully converted, 4x4 Sportsmobile ORV.

If you like to tinker, you can save enough money in the long run to buy three or four vans.

Even if I end up buying a whole 'nother van, I would still keep my Dodge B3500, and just store it somewhere for a small fee. I don't believe in just selling vehicles to get a new one. There is always a place to store a great vehicle.
