The infamous RV park requirements list

The only snag I see is when you belong to a group, which I do (soon to be did) that enacts rules/regulations that would block me from using their facilities. We then have an issue! Having lived for 6 years in the Tucson area, I am familiar with some, but new to me is a required length as just for myself, I am looking at 17' or less. When we arrived in the SW, unfamiliar to us were the limit on the size of pets and age requirements as we were in our mid-30s at that time.

They can make the rules they want, I can spend my money where people appreciate my business.

I'd much rather camp in a field with the folks from this forum than in a rule-infested RV park.

Very well said! As was the comparison with HOAs.

We now have a (in theory) fifteen year rule for monthly rentals here. We didn't for the first two years I was here and had multiple issues with several owners of the older rv's. Not fair to group people together based on what they can afford but just can't have the police here for domestic disputes in a family campground. After five separate incidents (gun and drugs involved), they said no more and carefully screen new people. It's not set in stone but they do require a picture of your rv for long time use. Had to laugh when we got one picture showing a rig held together with duct tape with a dumpster sized pile of trash surrounding it. People pay a fortune to stay here, do you want that as your neighbor?

People living in gated communities are generally open minded until it comes to their neighbors.

To me it seems ironic that the owners of an RV park are allowed to discriminate based on age, size, or appearance of the RV, but they CANNOT discriminate based on the actual persons race, religion, gender, ethnicity, or handicap status.

Can you imagine the lawsuits?

Yeah if I roll into an RV resort that cost $139 a night and my RV cost $800,000 I'd probably be a bit snooty too!

:p
