Im looking forward to sharing this build with you guys. I spend most nights reading through the forum getting ideas and adding to my parts list.

74' Chevy conversion built by CruisAire in Gardena California.

I purchased it for $3500 with the original wheels. It is mostly all original, different carpet was added along with a few other things like curtains and a tape deck. I plan on stripping the interior and doing some major updates while keeping the little cruisaire details throughout.

When complete the first order of business will be cruising down 101 and taking my dogs to the original cruisaire site in Gardena which just so happens to be a dog grooming establishmentry now!

Looking to incorporate these items in my build so far:

Webasto gasoline heater

Insulate with 3M thinsulate

Engle/ARB freezer

300w renogy solar - 100 on roof, 200 stored away for deployment when parked

Fantastic fan

Updated wiring with converter and fuse block for shore power

ARB awning with screen room

Porta potty

1st project will be new weather stripping all around along with rebuilding the cab window parts... gotta get her sealed up!

:)  Hello and Welcome.  I like older anythings.  All this plastic and fiberglass on vehicles gets on my nerves.  About a year ago I went from a 1991 Ford Ranger 4x4 to a 1998 Safari conversion.  There is only metal in the center of each bumper with fiberglass wrapped from side to side over that.     I need to install D rings on the body so I can secure my Chihuahua 'Queenie'!  Who'd a thunk it?  I've had three 1970s Chevy vans with a new one in 1978.  It was black, red and chrome........... another thing you don't see a lot of anymore.

Your pics aren't showing.
I'm sooooo hopeless with stuff like that.

Very cool van, I think I'd just build a permanent bed in back with storage under, and run with it like that for a while.

Ive considered a permanent bed above a large storage area to house my electrical components, engle fridge, water etc. I also like the idea of a jackknife sofa mounted on a storage platform with a memory foam roll to place on it. I like the idea of having a couch to spend rainy days on or whatever.

The project for today...
