It was a 2017 chevy 2500. Ive never drove a van before and it felt like it was swerving a little on the highway. Is this normal? Im assuming its because its a big box and not very aerodynamic. I usually drive a f250 and it does it too but its an older model. I also smelled some burning which im assuming is new paint. Ive never bought or driven a brand new vehicle so this is all new to me.

Hey Scout, was it cold outside? How many miles were on the van?

With a 3/4 to 1 ton van, with 80 PSI truck tires, and especially new, and if the tires were cold (below 70 or so) they will handle a bit 'stiff' until they warm up. With an empty van this would be even more noticeable.

And the smell was undoubtedly paint or some other coating heating up on the engine or the exhaust...that smell is the 'new' smell and it will go away pretty soon.

It was 40s . that sounds right about the tires. My truck was doing the same thing and airing down the tires helped. I doubt anything is wrong with it its brand new 50 miles. I just have to get used to driving something different
