the Allstays app, for $10.00, can filter the amenities you are looking for and give you options. When I'm traveling daily this is my favorite app.

The app finds YOUR location and then finds what you're looking for, closest to you. My biggest complaint is that I can't designate the direction in which I am traveling. Really, no big deal, but I have to complain about something. Also, I haven't used it recently so maybe it's improved.

tell me how an almost 50-foot long combination is going to traverse the moguls on the access road to the RTR.

Literally, MILLIONS of giant Class As, 5ers and TTs have no problem on the  gravel roads in Q. Generally, they are graded before snowbirds show up.

We've had mega Class As,  5ers and TTs at the RTR. Some of them hauling toads and trailers. The location is chosen because it is accessible to every one.

Mr. Read, I put lifts on the trailers and skid plates under easily damaged plumbing and tanks. then you just go for it, if it drags, which it will, who cares my truck will pull it over. I guess you wouldn't believe where I have gotten trailers into. on mining claims high up a mountain on a 4x4 track I have seen people hook the trailer up to a D-9 cat and pull it up a mountain, these are roads that most wouldn't try to take their 4x4 up. mind you I have also seen idiots that don't do the modifications do major damage to their RV's. that road to the RTR is nothing, that's a super highway in Nevada. you need to come out west and see how boondocking is done here. highdesertranger

Back a few years ago, when we had the 36 ft Elite,I got into a couple of pl;aces that I had to unhook and use 2 come a longs to get out.I'm older and less bolder now.

http://casinocamper.com/ lists casinos you can overnight at -- frequently free dry camping for 3 days, but read each listing. (They will sometimes give a free meal for joining their club as well.) I've stayed at a couple near Tucson and a couple near Phonix.

usps.com can be used to take a city and find a zip, some grocery web sites do a search nearby by zip rather than city/state.

I have gotten over being amazed, in the west during hunting season, driving up some single track that I think is scary for a 4X4, to find a 40' trailer with 3 pull-outs sitting in a meadow.  Wondering 'How did you navigate those switchbacks?'

like I said put a lift on the trailer, protect anything that might get damaged, then have the proper vehicle to muscle it through. highdesertranger

missnout, I can't answer most of your questions about RV stuff, but I can tell you that you are going to be just fine in your trailer, you can get into the RTR and my camp here in Ehrenberg with no problems.

Ok, im here at the RTR. I drove down to the dead end and turned right, meandered around for a while, but didnt go far enough. I dont think. I am up on the paved road now and will probably stay around here till closer to January 1. Not sure about spending the 180 on a pass or not, not sure whats going to happen in the future. anywho my # is 817-992-7742 Anyone who swings in early give me a TEXT (dont answer calls unfamiliar) I can either put on a coffee, or make a crown hmmm, might make one now. Yall keep me posted.

I know Bob said this before but your location has me worried. If you are in Q now and get your plate # jotted down by a ranger, then you won't be allowed to stay for the RTR assuming that is your goal. Maybe you'd be best to take the invite and head west to Ehrenburg. It's only 20 miles and the road is easy to take a trailer on. We did it with a 1/2 ton truck pulling a 27' tt last winter. In Ehrenburg there is the laundry mall which has a dump staion and fresh water. My 2 cents.

You really would be safer if you came here, plus you won't be alone, there are a bunch of us here.
