For those who are gear heads:

Remember back in the 1970's the Pacific Bell utility vans in that awful, but distinctive green they were?

Anyone know what that green is called? Or better yet a paint code?

I know... Out of really really really left field.. :-D

haha, left field, that's in the bleachers. I have no idea. but looking at those pics John posted, the greens look military or Forest Service. the military has at least half a dozen shades of Olive Drab depending on the year. highdesertranger

You might check with an automotive paint store.  They may have the formula.

^^ My PPG Automotive Finish dealer has paint chip books that go back to the '40s.  It may not be named but you should be able to pick the color out.

I'm pretty sure it was "citris green"
Not military od green and not Forrest green.
Kind of in between the two.

For a short time I was a professional paint color matcher. Anyone in the industry worth their salt oughta be able to come pretty darned close, color code or no. It's not that hard. All you need is a sample.

After 70 years most samples would likely not be the original color anymore.
