You're confused by grid-tie inverter systems, nothing to do with 12V mobile.
Anything above 12V **at the bank** needs a good reason, everything else gets lots more expensive.
Victron's MPPT SCs give a lot of flexibility in using high-voltage **panels**, and in fact should use 36+V for efficiency. Best to get single panels at that rather than seriesing together the 12V ones.
But all that is input, has nothing to do with output to the bank.
What I meant, is that (pretty sure) these SCs are limited to only 12 or 24V anyway, but 12 is what you want.
