Suitcase Solar Advantages?

One disadvantage with many vendor-built suitcase PV systems is that they often have the charge controller mounted on the back of the PV panels. That's an invitation to excessive voltage drop, especially if the vendor-built system's wire run (between wire gauge used and wire length) isn't robust enough to deliver the charge controller's programmed voltage to the battery bank.

Of course, building one's own suitcase PV system will allow one to eliminate this disadvantage.
