I finally decided to look for a camper for my truck to take to RTR... and the Universe really came through for me! In two days I found a nice camper for $100... I would like to do some more stuff to the inside but if there isn't money for it, I can make due with what I have right now. I am ready! All I really have to worry about now is money for gas... yea!!!!

I have no idea how to post a picture here... but I think I did upload my new camper pic as my avatar! Yea! Did I say YEA already? Yea... Yea... Yea...

Well, congratulations! That is an incredible deal!!! I hope I'm as lucky when it comes to finding mine.

WTG, I too have been looking for a trailer to tow behind my van...

I have put the word out now that I am looking for a bumper pull trailer for under $300... all it has to have is a good axel, tongue and hitch. I am planning on building my travel trailer from there... need it to be lighter than what is commercially available.... and I have a phobia (although I don't think it is an irrational fear) of fresh water, grey water and black water holding tanks. Yuck... don't need them.

So, now... everyone please... assume the position and release positive energy into the Universe... and repeat after me...

"Bodhi has a </= $300 trailer that is exactly what is needed for exactly what is wanted... All things for the Greatest Good... Namaste"

Peace, Love and Lower Gas Prices

Thank you,
Bodhi

Thank you! I am very happy about this. I should be able to get to RTR and pop up a tent for toiletries and stowage... and be able to sleep and explore in my truck!

What kind of trailer are you looking for? Something ready to go? Maybe a HandyMan Special? What price range? I am usually scourering Craig's List daily... I have a postit with your name on it... give me your requirements and I will BOLO for it.

Hi Bodhi,

Welcome aboard! Good to have you here. There are a lot of friendly folks in this group.

V.T.

Welcome to the group! Camper looks great and a great price!

I bought a single sheet of rigid foam insulation today, cut it tight and wedged it into place. It is so easy to put up (I spent less than an hour and got about 2/3 done) and I think, using it very economically, one 4' x 8' will insulate the whole thing. The exact match Touch-Up Paint has been located and I found someone to sew some curtains for me. Also, I cannibalized my couch (in storage with the rest of the stuff I should be eliminating from my life) so now I have a "love seat/sleeper sofa"! There needs to be some adjustments, but it is moving in the right direction.

Very exciting stuff!

Would this be STEP 2... ?!?!?!

Good find! You are ahead of me, at least. It is my dream to come out to the RTR. I am still hoping for this year, but we will see. I am buried in work right now.

Good luck with your van conversion and may you be safe in your travels.

--Rod

Step two...

I just bought myself a tiny little flat-bed trailer that once was a pop-up tent camper. It is only 7'4" long and 6'8" wide but I think it will suit me just fine. Now, to get a buddy of mine to weld basically an alluminum box for total stability and then I start my frame out. Very exciting stuff!

The next posting here... Step 3... should be the start of the frame out.

Between now and then I will add some pictures and take care of getting my title and plates for the trailer. This could take a while because it is also during this time that I am planning for the "RTR Run". My job says, "NO!" I say, "Okay, I will bring back pictures!" What can they do? Fire me? Yeah, and then I get to HIT THE ROAD quicker... I feel a bit like Brier Rabbit.

Peace, Love and Not Enough Time On My Hands

Bodhi

Okay, just jumping in here to add some quick pictures of my little blank canvas on which I plan to build my micro retirement home! So exciting!

You better get a move on if that's going to be ready for the RTR!!!

Bodhi: Thanks for adding the pics. I'd been wondering about that trailer.

The pics were taking forever to load the larger images so I resized them, figured I might as well put them up in case someone else is on a dialup.

Congratulations on a worthy project ahead.
