I live in a rural area, with small towns of 400 to 10,000 inbetween and am wondering where the experienced boondockers would choose to live stealthily in this setting...versus cities or suburbia??? I have a friend who is vandwelling and he overnites just in the Walmart lot but this is a limited choice...if you eliminate Walmarts, rest stops, apartment complexes and truckstops, I am wondering how you go about finding PLACE. What are some OTHER examples you guys have looked for and tried??

There must be more tried and true solutions as to WHERE to overnite...for example I am wondering about all the abandoned COUNTRY STORES, abandoned homes and farms, abandoned businesses in small town downtowns/behind small town downtown strips where a few businesses may still exist and even have some commercial vehicles parked. Commerical building lots that also may have some vehicles there...what place types am I missing?? If my friend gets tossed from the Walmart lot and there are no reststops or truckstops, BLM lands,.... where does he go?? Where does he look?

Trying to get my head around what options you all HAVE considered and experienced once you eliminate the above always mentioned spots??? Any personal experiences and thoughts most welcomed. thx.
Dust

Are there any motels where ya'll are? That would be one choice. I would also say, any place that is open 24 hrs., but if your town is like ours there aren't many things open late. Also the waffle or huddle houses are open 24 hrs., that might be a choice. I would be careful parking just anywhere in a small town, cop's don't have much to do, they could be troublesome.
