Hi, we were in New York in 2009 and stayed at the Secaucus Walmart in Jersey City. It was great as there was a bus stop right in the car park. We stayed two nights and the security guard was fine with that. I see now you can't stay at any of the Walmarts and we are going to New York in April. Our van is small (standard Ford E150) but looks like a camper.
Would anyone know where we can park? We don't need any hookups.
We don't want to drive in the city if possible.
Thanks,

If you don't mind a longer bus/train ride further west there are numerous possibilities.  New Jersey transit website will have map and schedule.  I am in there area and will keep an eye out for you.http://www.njtransit.com

Thanks very much. That would be great. We wouldn't mine travelling by bus or train. It would be nice to spend a few days in the area. We couldn't see alot of NY in the two days we had. By the way, the bus trip though the tunnel from Jersey City to the station in Manhattan was one of the highlight for me. Incredible drivers.
Cheers,

Thanks, I'll check this out.
Not sure when we will arrive in the NY area. We are starting in LA and have three months to go from there to New Orleans then up to New York before heading back to LA via Maine, Chicago, Denver.
I guess it will be sometime early May.
Cheers,
