Think of the implications of such a policy by  Government Agencies.

The RV industry will suffer, their material suppliers, and all of the appending industries that benefit from their product.  Then there are the people.   These things use fuel and lots of it, so the energy companies may bristle a bit too. (where motor fuel sales suffer)  ....and not to mention taxes that come from fuel sales.

I could go on,  but this should be enough open some eyes.   With the earliest "Boomers" now at 70 and wanting to see the country in their retirement (perhaps taking the Grand Kids in the summer)  I would imagine the RV industry should be doing quite well right now.  Then there are all of the others resorting to RV's for what ever their needs or reasons.

List of Governors Offices in each State & websites to write letters to in order to express dismay at these policies.

People are starting to wake up, pay attention and take action finally when they don't approve of government action. It was about darn time too! If they wanted to really take control of the ever increasing mobile population, they should have done it probably 30 years ago at least. I love seeing people wake up and resist the things that are wrong.

Escapees has fought many a fight when the mobile population was being discriminated against. To me, if you are within the law, you need to be left alone without a whole bunch of new rules. I have not heard of the mobile population being an issue when it comes to the problems faced by our country, maybe just the opposite.

The sky is NOT falling.

This is designed to clear up a "gray area".  HUD regulates manufactured housing.  The RV industry manufactures something called "Park Trailers".  The question came up as to whether or not these are manufactured houses and thus subject to HUD regulation.

HUD has nothing to do with regulating "vehicles".

And yes, as a general rule, people don't live full time in "vehicles".  But the HUD police are not going to be going around in black helicopters looking for us.

Could we maybe get back on topic here?

Apparently, in Oregon, if you are homeless, you can provide them with a "descriptive address" such as "under the north end of the 59th street bridge" and they will accept it.

I had to renew my Oregon license and tags last fall. So I went into the DMV and asked an employee what I should do. She advised me to use a friend or family member's address to receive mail at and to have listed as my physical residence. It's legal to do if you're homeless. My sister agreed to do it but she had to come into the DMV with me and sign some paper.
The DMV employee also said I could do the approximate area like you described ( ie. Fred Meyer parking lot, end of River Rd) and get my mail at the Union Gospel Mission.

Lots of fantasy thinking here.

Real ID has only one issue, who can get onto Federal Property with what ID. They are responsible for the safety and security of those buildings so it is totally reasonable they get to set what ID is acceptable to get into it. If they are going to let you into secured government facilities (which very reasonably includes airports) they want that ID to have some value.

9-11 proved conclusively our old way of issuing driver licenses was a joke and needed improvement, this is the improvement and as far as I am concerned is reasonable and balanced.

True, Bob. Only way it effects me is once or twice a year when I fly in to see family. But I can see state facilities eventually requiring Real-Id. And only Real-Id licenses available if you want to drive or register a vehicle.

Just a thought...

There is an estimated 250,000 to 2 million or so people living full time in RVs. How do you stop them? These people lived in society, worked all their life, followed the law, paid their dues. Now, they want to live in an rv full time, travel and enjoy life. How do you stop them? Is the government going to go around knocking on rvs saying, "You don't live in a house? Off to the FEMA concentration camp for you!"

Yes, that's what they plan.  Look at Agenda 21 and Agenda 2030.

Georgia Guidestones state that the Powers the Be want the population at 500 million.  Chemtrails, GMO, Vaccines, Rules, Regulations, etc. are taking us there at a rapid pace.  Unfortunately, I think they will reach their goal, as the population is too apathetic.  Wake up, campers!!!

I think Bob should create a "Tin foil Hat" section.

So, is everyone using your P.O. Box or your drivers license address as the address for your tax return?

We are in an RV park and we are using our address on both state and federal tax returns with the refund direct deposited. We actually have received both refunds now for 2016 filing. Neither required a physical address although to get a PO Box, we had to list a physical address.

Our "fun" doesn't start until we leave this RV park to find a new domicile.

For what it's worth, I just got my Florida license and plates. License was $54, plate and registration was about $350. I used my health insurance, a pay stub, and car insurance for proof of residency and they did not question anything. The address is my box at St Brendan's Isle.

Unless I get something in the mail asking for more information it looks like I'm good through 2026.

Okay...I just called my Florida mail service after reading what you wrote.  You are on the right track here.  She said that last year the requirement did change...that in order to use the mailer address as your legal address, you must have an RV or Boat (vessel) registered in Florida.  And instead of the mailer street address on your driver's license, they now put your RV or boat registration # on the driver's license as your legal address.  Wow. And if you do not have a boat or RV registered in Florida, you will need a friend or relative's address to use.

So you can use your RV as your physical address? Makes sense. I used to kid people when they asked where I lived, I would say my address is 1973 Winnebago Drive. :p

I found this interesting:

Patriot Act Warning: Using a commercial mail forward service does have a downside. All financial institutions are required by the Patriot Act to have a residential address on file for their account holders, and the rules specifically disallow mail forwarding services & PO Boxes. So if you change your address (or open a new account) using your mail forwarding address – you will likely at some point be asked to provide it. Not doing so can lead to accounts being restricted or suspended from transactions (we’ve had this happen, even on accounts we’ve held for over 10 years using mail forwarding addresses). You are legally allowed to use a ‘next of kins’ address, even if you don’t live there. Have a residential address, preferably within your state of domicile, ready to go. Don’t try to explain to the institution your situation – they’re just filling in blanks, or it could raise red flags (we tried this once, thinking we’d carve a path for RVers, and it resulted in them not accepting our family member’s address without proof we lived there.)

https://www.torproject.org/

Using TOR to explore the underbelly of the internet. Used along with Onion as a search engine and routed thru several servers around the world that change each time you log on. Should you be in the market for illicit drugs, certain types of porn, stolen credit card numbers and pins they are all there.

There is a long history about what it was initially designed for and for whom. One of the main creators of the project is now doing Federal Time but there are many to take it's place.

If you want to spend some interesting time download the program and poke around. You may or may not be surprised what is out there. And who is out there. I go there often just to browse around, there is nothing illegal about anonymity, just what you view when you are there. It's often called The Deep Web..

I have never heard of it either. Thanks for the links guys. But is it safe to use?

It's safe, military, business and many use it. There are many sites that pander to the illegal things online, just avoid them and look around. I would avoid downloading anything from the deepweb just on general principles. If you or I can find the illegal things , you know cops can and do. But it opens up a totally different part of the web.
