My problem is a little complicated. My husband and I have been separated for over 5 years. We haven't got a divorce for various reason, mostly cost. I am moving out of my mobile home and he is taking it over. He also gets SSD and SSI. SSI will count my income if they think I'm living there.
I'm wondering if I can still use it as my mailing address without it being my residence.
Some of my belongings will still be there.
I'm sure the best thing to do would be to drive to South Dakota and register there as a resident, but I wanted to head south this month, not west!
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can handle this? I may be able to get a family member to let me use their address, but most are leery of that idea.
