Well, Back to S & B for me.

My knee is out bad enough to mess with the circulation.  ...     And all the opinions from those at RTR was to go get cut on.

:dodgy:  So I am taking my own path and speed.

If I am back to square 1, I will make sure To have as much fun as possible.  I am in Show Low AZ.

I need to build something I do not need to crawl in.

If anyone is interested in a good 91 Dodge van with 200W solar, 448 ah battery, let me know.  Price is negotiable.

I just replaced almost everything under the floor. Tires, brakes, shocks, u~Joints steering...

Sorry to hear it, but Show Low is not a bad place to be. Take care.

sorry to hear about your knee. take it easy and the best to you. highdesertranger

Sorry your winter trip couldn't be longer, but you definitely need to get that knee taken care of. After you recover, and find the right vehicle, you know we can work on it at my place if you want. Let me know if you plan to stop by on the way back and God Bless my friend.

Sorry to hear about your knee but look at the bright side.  Once you are healed up you will hopefully be better and able to get out and see/do more.

Get better soon.

Glad we got to meet, John. Keep us posted!!

Thanks for the good wishes everyone.

I would like to get $3,500.  It is in good shape for the age, but it is 25 years old.   The motor is one of the sought after 1969 318 truck motors.  They do not build them this strong any more.

All real offers will be considered.   I might just use this as a donation base, but I hate to ruin a good van.

Sorry to hear that, and hope you are able to get what you need there, or close by. Take care.

John, Laurie aka Love rise, was at the RTR in search of a van... If you pm me your contact info I'll pass it on.In the mean time, I'll share this thread with her.

I, too, ended up back in S&B. My surgical incision re opened, for the 3rd time. surgery was in June 2015. I was in Yuma at the time. Drove back to Nevada where urgent care handed me 2 kotex and called that wound care. WTH???

Hoping you get well soon and then you'll have more fun on "take two" !

A McHospital.   :-/

This would include all van dwelling supplies.  Mr Buddy, tank, and so on.

I have landed.

I made a couple mistakes because my mind was not working right.

1.  Denver traffic at PM rush hour.

2.  KC traffic at Friday PM rush hour.

3.  700+ mile day

I should have taken up Doug on his offer of a landing place.

After the stress of the Denver traffic, I could not sleep and my leg was filled with stabbing pains.  So I started at 3 AM in Colorado and did more than 700 miles.

I have been stuck in rush hour traffic in many states.  KC was the complete worst with a 7mph average speed, and spectators lining the over passes to wave at the captive audence.  It is like a spectator sport.   2 hours to go 14 miles.   :s

By the time I landed and had dinner, I just passed out.

The van should be clean by tomorrow, then I can post it with pictures.

Glad you made it back safe. I hope the process to get the knee taken care of goes smoothly and quickly.

Not good

The surgeon showed my I have a triangular rip in my ACL that has been binding and inflaming my knee for years.  6 weeks of PT before deciding if I can take surgery.  Right now It looks like surgery will not do much.

I do things one day, and have to recover the next day.

A bright spot was I figured I am allergic to the new Diabetes treatment. That is $11 a pill I do not need to spend.    :dodgy:

BUT,  $40 co pay for the PT, each time.  It is cheaper to die!

Yesterday I had the follow up with the cutter.   :dodgy:

First, with multiple problems with the knee, surgery will not correct much, if anything.

Second, unless my blood sugar is stable for at least a month, surgery will not happen.

Third.  health care coverage has changed, and it will cost me a bundle to get it done.(Thanks insurance companies for writing the laws!)

My best option is to get a good brace and wear it the rest of my life.

Now to try again to get a PCP that understands diabetes, and listens.

I have decided not to sell my van yet.  It runs better than most of the things on the market.

Hey John, have they discussed knee replacement? I know several people who have had to go that route, and it has been very successful. They are almost routine anymore. I'm not sure the quality of care where you're at, but Colorado Springs has very top notch Orthopedic Docs due to the Olympic Training Center being here. Cost can still be an issue, with our wonderful version of universal health care. Whatever happened to "if you have insurance you like, you can keep it"?

Probably need to get diabetes under control first, before anything else can happen. I'll see if I can find a recommendation for you. My brother in law's specialty is diabetes but he's in Texas. He might know someone though.
