In about an hour I'll be headed to Houston to pick up my new to me small Class C. I haven't slept a wink....

I'll be bringing it right back to Kentucky as I can't get away just yet plus I want to remodel and update to suit me.

I'm going to need a whole solar outfit with also a hookup near the bed to run my CPAP at night. Since I won't be heading west quite yet To find a solar dealer/installer I was wondering if there might be a quick fix for the CPAP.

I have no idea what this RV is equipped with as far as converter, batteries, etc. I'm sure I'm going to need a good size inverter but don't want to prepurchase before I get my solar because I don't want to get something that may not match my system.

Maybe by next year I can make the rtr.... Unless I've gone totally wild and am way down in South America by then [emoji12]

The CPAP machine will give it's draw in watts somewhere. The numbers I'm seeing on google suggests it's less than 50w, serviceable by the very smallest inverters available. And the small inverter will self-consume less power than a big one.

If your house battery and converter are alive at all they could likely run the CPAP for however many hours you sleep. Particularly since you are going to be on the road.

Also, the examples I see online have a AC/DC power supply, so you may be able to use DC directly which would use even less power.

I purchased a 12V cord for my unit online.  Perhaps $20.

Just enter the make and model in Amazon, and buy as direct from the company.  Amazon has let some junk past QC into the warehouses.  The junk just stops working.

Do you know how many watts the CPAP uses??

I'm somewhere in Arkansas right now on my way to get my new to me vehicle [emoji3]. I'll look at the wattage tonight. Even if I get a 12 v plug where would I plug it in? The just can't stick it in any outlet can I?

If you stick it in any outlet that gets it's power from the engine starting battery, the odds are good the vehicle won't start the next morning.  So you need to plug it into an outlet that's hooked to your house batteries.  Worst thing that can happen with that is your house battery will be run down overnight. Hopefully, there will be an owner's manual or somesuch with it that will identify where any outlets draw their power from.  Any out let in the front dash is probably the engine battery.  An outlet back by your bed is probably the house battery.  Probably.

BTW, did you use one of those vehicle inspection services, and if so, how did it work out?  Maybe you could do a post on it?

Yes, I did use one. I'll post the inspection papers here. I kept calling him and he was there checking things for a few hours. Seemed very personable and professional and had been working on autos for fifty years.

I think it cost me $280. They had no electricity where he was so he couldn't do all he wanted to. I'm not happy with the dealer but do want the vehicle. I've looked so long

Any questions I can answer fire away.

Sounds like a nice deal - love the mileage!  Any chance of getting the seller to change the oil/filter before you leave Houston?

Some of those things have been done. The slide out was just a fuse, the generator is fixed they threw in a quart of oil and I raised hell. As soon as I leave I'm taking it somewhere for an oil change before I head back. They want over $100 to change the oil...
