So I bought a truck...

I know there are a hundred videos, vlogs etc about builds on the web...but I was wondering if folks might be interested in maybe a blog on my truck rebuild/trailer build. A start to finish style blog (well, when I can actually get started). I plan on it taking me a while as I don't want to rush through and I want to leave plenty of time to do the inevitable 'oh crap I forgot to...' fixes as well as the 'd***it the drill went through and tore up the wiring...' fixes.

Basically the blog would start with the truck since that is what I currently have and will have to save up for the trailer. Of course, this would also benefit me as I could get advice when needed. In that way it would be sort of interactive while the repairs/build was going on.

Posting it here would probably get more responses....or do both.

I was wondering if any of the people here have experience with Rockauto. I was recently told about the website but the prices seem a bit low on things (Harbor Freight Syndrome I guess).

as far as Rock Auto goes, depends what your buying. I use them sometimes. most of their prices are good but not always the lowest. I always try to go with the better quality parts and once you add shipping sometimes they are more expensive then a regular parts store. shop around. what I really like about them is once you buy something from them they send you coupons and every so often they have warehouse clearance sales, I recently bought a bunch of misc. brake parts for my truck for pennies on the dollar. highdesertranger

Well, it's been a couple of months and, unfortunately, due to...let's say 'circumstances'...the move keeps getting postponed (the one to the house that will cost me zero rent which will allow me to put more money into the truck and trailer).

However (knock on wood), things look like they might finally be coming together. Once I can get the truck up on some jack stands I intend to take lots of before pictures which I will most likely post up on a new "Conversions and Modifications" thread.
