Hi Everyone.

Well I have to say I have become a junkie on not only you tube but also this forum since I have no experience with putting power into my van. I am working on setting up my own small portable system. Somewhat of a plug and go and if I can get some feedback that would be great.

I have a conversion van and really the only panel that will fit on my roof is the renogy 150w panel.  I am thinking about going with a agm 130 - 140 amp hour battery.  I will also get either the Morningstar or Blue ski charge controller and a small 300 or 400watt inverter.  Attwood puts out a battery box for a marine deep cycle battery with two 12 volt imputs and a 10amp fuse built in for those,  LED battery level indicator w/one-touch "test" button, and  external terminals. Price about 70.00..

Right now I am only going out for the max about 10 days at a time travelling and am not a full timer yet.

I plan on using the power for my Dometic 35 fridge (which is the most important) and charging cell phone and lap top devices and maybe running a small 35watt tv a couple hours a day (not always).
I am also planning on hooking up the altenator to the battery for charging.
Any imput would be helpful.

Thanks
Peggy

If the bulk charging gets done by the alternator every day then the solar can probably top it off. Hopefully SternWake will chime in but I am skeptical that 150w solar would be able to keep a 140A AGM happy running a fridge and 400w inverter.

Maybe a more space-efficient monocrystal panel would let you get up to 200w or so?
