I'm about to start living full time in my camper with my son who is about to turn six. We have a dog and a cat and family everywhere across the country. For now we'll be staying local while the two of us finish school. I have my college and he has his kindergarten year. Then we will be moving on to our several destinations. I have dying relatives that want to see their great grand child one last time, cousins I haven't seen since I was five, aunts, uncles, and brothers all waiting for me along the way..

My son wishes we could walk with our backpacks and travel the world. Before I had my son I was a permanent van dweller with my two dogs and couldn't have been happier. Now, we'll have a camper. An 18' camper but, still... All of the differences are unknown to me.

Regardless, I'm taking the plunge now while it's still a choice so I can be a little picky about my set up, as opposed to waiting until we're just out and have to resort to car living.. I feel like the luckiest mom ever that as we are about to become 'homeless' my son is excited and looking forward to losing most of his things for a drastically smaller living space. He's separated his things into what he's keeping and what he's selling MONTHS ago.

That's it really. No questions or concerns. I'm just sharing.

Good for you. You'll never regret the adventures you and your son will have together. I took my two sons everywhere with me and we are still close. Now they are both in college, so I don't see them as much as I would like, but I'll always have those memories -- so will you.

Make sure you post your travels! Best wishes!

HOORAY for you both. It sounds like you have an exceptional attitude as well as an exemplary young man as a travel partner....Congrats to you both.

What fun experiences you'll have, and the memories will be cherished by you both!
