has anybody removed the passenger seat in their van? I just really feel it is a waste of space, although my co~pilot might disagree...

Nice set up, Bri...

I can see how removing the front seat and then using the passenger side front door to get in and out would give you about three more feet of storage / living space. That would be something worth thinking about.

This is such a creative group...

Bodhibk2valve said:
It is up to you but I really like it turned backwards...it is common for vandwellers to do that. Maybe Katie will chime in on this....
Bri

I can see the value and comfort in having a chair, there is just something about it, in my mind I am always thinking of getting the most of my space, and I do miss having a chair though but don't want to give up that much space for one, have 3 dogs and I need to sacrifice somewhere.squire said:I turned the seats for Cheri and Katie at the winter RTR and they both loved it. Being full size vans, I was able to manipulate the mounting so the seats faced at an angle toward the center of the rear living area as opposed facing straight down the side.

Cheri's seat could then be moved forward on it's track (moving it toward the rear of the van) thus moving out of her line of sight of her window and mirror. Katie's seat back actually folded to accomplish the same thing.

Both ladies thought they now had "easy chairs" in their living rooms.

Once you get them out just replace them with regular hex bolts at the hardware store. No need for the tool then.Nemo said:how hard would it be to find one? place like Pep Boys have it perhaps? or would I need to go to a tool place?

joey said:The Ford van/truck seat and seat belts are installed using a TP55 Torx PLUS, which is a new modification (improvement) over the regular Torx.
