I got this in my email today and I thought i would pass it on. It is a new RV Resort in Mexico that charges $2000 for a year lease. That's cheap living!! More info here:
http://www.sanjuandellago.com/

For those of us on a very tight budget, this is probably the best possible living on the least amount of money. They are offering a one week free stay as a promotion

I cut and pasted this from their email to me:

As a promotion for the 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 Seasons we are offering a one-week free stay at the RV Resort.

By November 2012 we’ll have 20 RV spaces available for leasing. By October 2013 the remaining 40 RV spaces will be available for leasing. We offer one to three year leases starting at $2000 dollars per year.

You will receive one RV space with water and sewer hookups included (electricity you pay what you consume, and we suggest to have your own solar/wind system) the spaces are 30 by 60 feet average all with panoramic views of the lake and mountain. And you will also receive discounts in all the Resort and Spa services. We are pet friendly.

I drove through the town last year about this time. This place was still in the development stage then. I heard they had challenges with an exit off the toll road. Hopefully they are getting closer. It does sound like a great spot for an RV park and the town nearby is a nice little one.

There are several RV parks in the central highlands where you should probably be able to negotiate a similar rate. I know Hacienda Contraras in Valle de Juarez has a rate that is about $2800 per year (+ electric) based on a peso rate of about 12.5 to the USD, now, that's if you just add up the monthly rate of about $230/month. I suspect if you paid a year in advance like the other offer, Barb and Sal would knock a couple hundred off. They will also store rigs for something around $30/month. Here is their site link. Picture perfect little town. Very, very safe and secure. I ended up spending a month there. Here is a link to a blog of Kevin and Ruth who are there now.

For those unfamiliar with Mexico, it's almost 1,500 miles from the AZ/Mexico border, to give you an idea how far south it is. and it's considered "Central Mexico". (it's actually north west of Mexico City, or south east of Guadalajara). The weather should be pretty nice in that area, I'd guess 70's most of the year during the day. I can't say anything about that particular park, I haven't been that way in many years.

With Love,
Tara
