I will be leaving for the RTR by January 1st or 2nd from South Dakota. Will be bringing some extra hand tools and cordless power tools for those that want to get some work done.

I realize this takes up extra space in my vehicle but have made adjustments to accommodate the extra cargo. Therefore I will not be bringing my honda generator. I know others will have generators for charging the batteries.

Look forward to meeting all of you and getting acquainted. I am very excited about this trip. Will be doing some camping along the way in New Mexico. Should be at the RTR site by 9th or 10th.

I've got too many tools in my RV, the problem is deciding which to get rid of. I'm planning on being at the full RTR.
seeing that camp fire ring made me think of something. i don't know what cords of wood go for in QZ, but if everyone pitched in a few bucks we could get a cord (or 2) delivered, way more practical than those 7-8 dollar bundles. just gotta find a place that sells cords and delivers. around here cords of pine go for around 200-225, probably more there.
There's a place that sells firewood $35/truck load near where I'm camping, (victorville area) but I don't have the room to haul it.
Please if you read this DO NOT haul firewood from your home area to another state, or even another area of your state, there are so many parasites in "fire wood" that just one getting into an unaffected forest can be devastating!!!

Big: Quartzsite does not have forests, or even trees that are not carefully watered and cared for. (and not many of those) It doesn't even have Joshua trees, which are not actually trees.

Checked the weather for Quartzite today. ...In the 70's! I'm counting down the days.

I'll be in qz in the morning. Currently 105 miles away posted up for the night. Temp is 70.

Trees in Quartzsite.... Q does have trees. Lots of trees. DO NOT haul firewood in from any other area. I think there are fines for doing so. I've been camping around a lot of really great old trees... it would be a shame to loose them. One is over 1,000 years old.

Swankie

Aw Steve, dang, I was hoping to see you again....well guy, I hope you get past it all soon and can get back to some more traveling...
Health,
bri

So wish I could be there for this. Is anybody going to be hanging around the SW in the time after? I should be in the Arizona- NM area around March!

I will be in the SW through May when the heat will drive me out. Not sure where I will be, but by March Quartzsite is getting too hot for me so I move to high desert either in Nevada or California. My camp is always open to other vandwellers to stay for a night or a month! Just drop me a line and I will let you know where I am. Bob
Good to hear from you, Katie! I've been wondering how you were getting along! Looking forward to your arrival!
