Hey, thanks a lot, Spaceman -- great pictures.

I was there, too.

Interesting and unusual that they focused on the interiors of those shops. Maybe they saw a moment in time they felt needed to be captured in there, thinking that the exteriors and the street scenes were somehow less interesting to their viewers.

And maybe they were right, because some of the exteriors are still standing, but these scenes are lost forever except in their photographs.

Fun stuff.

I saw a thread on the advrider forum about traveling RT 66, it had great pics, it made me want to drive the route. I lived near part of it in Flagstaff but never explored much of it.

there is a great write up with pics right here by Tony and Karen when they traveled the length of RT 66. highdesertranger

So many people like interstate travel, and don’t really realize what they are missing.

Old Route 66, US Highway 51, all the way down south.

I had grandparents in Mississippi, and at least once a year growing up we would pile in the car and go down there for a visit.

Small town America.

Ain’t nothin like it, still.
