I have 4 little boys and if they are still around Id take them with me. Challenging but heck I always did love a challenge. Has anyone ever traveled with hamsters or such? Not that I have hamsters but somewhere in that same kind of family. hehehe. I don't have a problem with the cold , the heat yes so that would be my main concern. That's why I need AC too. So Im going with the dog air conditioner which Im hoping draws a lot less power than a regular 5000 btu(the dog one has 2500 btu). There cage will a little smaller unless I get a high top. Im wont be getting any more after they are gone. Sadly. I will be getting another pet but one that's more suitable for traveling. Maybe a small pupper.

No I have 4 fancy rats. Please do not eekkk. LOL I am hard of hearing so no I don't hear squeaky wheels.<div>I don't want hamsters I was just saying that I have like kind of pets. Most people don't understand why I would have them (rattys). I don't talk about them much but there's a forum GooseMoose which I go on quite a bit. I had a Rat and my buddy had 2, they make great pets and are very intelligent. Do not give them booze though, they get hooked way to quick... <br><div><br></div><div>They all loved to travel in the vehicle, sit on the dash, or sit on the back seat, they are smart, will go back to their house when needed. Much better than Cats, the little dudes are always happy to see you.</div>

</P><b>I'm sorry. Little lives lost but loved. Dust has an old dog that had a stroke. I have an old dog that gets me up several times a night to go out to pee or just stand and bark. I carry him up and down the stairs. Keeps me in shape I suppose. He needs put down but I just can't do it yet. <br><br>Very true... Personally, it's the hardest thing for me to do... As long as the dog isnt in major pain, I'd do the same as dragonfly, for as long as needed... I guess we loners have extra special bonds with our pets. <br><br><br><br>

It is a special bond with pets. <img src="/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle"> They look up to us as the pack leader and their master. And it is a wonderful bond we all have with all of the creatures of this good Earth. When the bond is honest and true, it is a beautiful thing. Unfortunately, many of us have distanced themselves from the beauty of nature and the special gifts that animals give us. I believe pet owners make for better partners in general... And they seem to be more loyal and laid back. A person who hates animals isn't that far from hating human beings.
You see thats the difference with rats. Most people don't know this but rats look to you as an equal. LOL Yeah they do. They treat you actually as if you were another rat. Thats why the bond is so strong with them and yet they only live for 2 or 3 years. They will sleep with you (if you let them)they will clean you and they are very clean. My rats smell like grapes half the time and thats NOT uncommon. If you are upset watch them....they are bound to get a little upset themselves. I had a little girl Lacey and I was ready to throttle for something she did. Her back arched all the way back because she didn't like getting yelled at. I very seldom yell but she must have done something really bad!! I don't remember what she did though. Very touchy these rats.

I grew up with them. My mom wouldn't mine to roam the house freely but my best friend's mother did. When we got home Osky would always be waiting on the pillow of his bed for him. Mine had to wait in her cage :-(<div><br></div>

I used to be a part of the Northwest Rat Fanciers group and for a while was doing domestic rat rescue and rehab in Seattle. I love rats, they're super sweet and adorable. I had to stop getting them because their lives are so short and letting go was taking its toll on me :/
