First I own a 2016 Shasta Oasis 18fq..

I took out the toilet that came with it to make room for the composting toilet that we are gonna be using. After doing this the wife said.."if we have water in this and turn on the pump won't it come out that hose?", referring to the hose that connects to the stock toilet... which i thought... oh crap....

So the question is.. is there any type of valve to stop the flow to that hose, or just anyways to cap the end of the hose??

Thanks in advance

I think that fitting is 1/2" pipe thread if I recall. You should be able to put a plug in there. If a plug doesn't fit deep enough (with that rubber seal in there), put a plastic pipe nipple in there and a cap on the nipple.

I have my toilet fill line plugged in exactly the same way. Except, I used a bypass valve that was lying around and the vale is just shut off all the time. A plug or nipple and cap would be cheaper to buy.

make it reversible in case you change your mind later or want to sell it

well I went to the stores looking for a plug, and couldn't find anything that fit... so I just went with this handy route.. which was my original plan... lol

Thanks for all the replies tho!

Not sure I'd trust that, but... Whatever makes ya happy...

That 'design' will work temporarily but will probably still seep some water which will land on the floor, which is NOT a good thing.

Either a shut off valve or capping it is by far  better solution. Actually I'm surprised there isn't already a shut off tap on the line although with todays' construction of RVs, I guess it shouldn't surprise me much.

The other alteration that a lot of people do when they remove a water use toilet is to replumb the black water tank so that it joins the gray water tank adding to your gray water capacity since you no longer need the black water tank at all. There are various ways of doing this and since I've never done it, I'll quit now!

Congratulations on your decision to use a C-Head, they are a great product!

That is a standard toilet riser.  It connects to something on the other side of that wall by screwing onto it.  I would find that point, and cap it.  More than likely it is a standard shut off.

What you have now will soon leak and destroy your investment.

As much as I hate admitting my faults..... Woke up with a little water leaking....

Guess i'll try a different hardware store and see if I can't find one of those plugs.

Any halfway competent hardware store employee should be able to figure that out for you. Go to a smaller store instead of a box store and show them a picture on your phone etc.

Or just go to an RV store and buy a bypass shut off. It will be a few bucks more and it'll have an on/off valve.

First place I went was a small hardware store.. first the guy looked at me like I was crazy that I wanted to plug that hose.. then he couldn't find anything to fit it, so he asked the owner, she said they wouldn't have anything that would fit on RV's and that I would have to go to an rv store.. which I think is bull....

Then lowes couldn't find anything to fit.. and they looked at me like I was crazy... lol

I haven't checked with the dealer yet... as that would be simple, and well I always have to make things difficult... lol

Actually I haven't checked with them yet mostly because its an hour away, and wanted to get the closest simplest source first.

Half the issue is, i'm terrible with measuring, and since I can't disconnect the hose to bring it to any said hardware store, when I show them at the store the picture, they tell me it looks like its about 7/8" then when they try to get a plug and put it in a hose that they have there it doesn't fit... I don't have a pressure regulator to hook up the city water, nor would it really be an option for us right now, so i'm trying to nip this thing in the bud as soon as I can so I can have some flowing water.. lol

I attached a picture of how my hose connects to show that it has no shut off valve as some have suggested, i've searched in almost every compartment I can find.. lol

Hi Josh

Could you hook her up and take her with to the hardware store? Go to a small local hardware place. I'll bet they will help figure it out.

Good luck!

It's 1/2" PEX. Take a short piece of it to Lowes and have them help you with a cap or a valve. They have them.

The only reason I haven't just taken it to the hardware stores is because we don't have a tow vehicle yet.. lol

Right now we are parked on the side of a relatives house, we have my buddy help us pick it up last saturday.

Def a bummer since we are dying to take it out camping, but unfortunately have to wait another 3 months to buy a tow vehicle.. unless i'm walking down the road and $8000 flies in my face.... wouldn't that be nice ...

I digress...

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE HELP! REALLY APPRECIATE IT A LOT!
