question for land seekers

hope this is right spot for this topic.<br><br>for those of you doing the land search for that home base, what do you come up with you like and where? i'm looking further south but in mountains. where there are no restrictions or zoning. actually kind of like what i have here but not so dang cold. <br><br>

You could also do a google search with certain keywords. I happened upon the spot we are in now by accident. I rented the first available place i could find when I came here as a volunteer after the April 27 '11 tornados. Turns out that the owner is willing to sell me the property, but I have to sell my NY property to buy this one. I'm in NE Alabama mountains, no building codes or zone restrictions, and if you are willing to clear them, some very good deals are left.

what do you all think about TN and KTY? i have been through both states many times and love the smokies. <br>

<BR><BR><BR>I've looked at land prices in both states a pretty fair amount and they are like 2-5X higher than&nbsp;most places&nbsp;out west. <BR>

if you dont need to be in a town, you can find land alot cheaper than what those links were.. I picked up 20 acres on the other side of the state, no road to the site, but was easy to drive in and make my own driveway.. cost me 3500.&nbsp; so now I have a home base to park whenever I choose, a PO box about 30 miles away, and peace whenever I choose it. <img src="/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle"><br><br>found it on a property auction in Apache County Az.<br><br>
