I recently rented this movie/documentary from Amazon Prime :

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kusama:_Infinity

It's about this Japanese (female) artist that was rejected by society....wound up in a mental institution...and now is a millionaire .......

I highly recommend you watch it.

I identify with this woman a lot.

I have always been a rebel & hated the ways of society & have not been able to conform & grow according to the standards of this society.....and i will not jump through the hoops.....the Universe KNOWS who i am and my worth.

I am getting nowhere fast by societies standards, yet i have done all i can to help myself succeed ....within limitations....i am done.....the Universe can weigh my karma as i go off into the sunset soon......hopefully things will balance out......

It is good to see from your experience, "flying kurbmaster". Could help me understand, a little more, about what you mean when you wrote the above? About "break ceilings"?
By ceiling I mean, if your sales are say 600,000 a year, and have been like this for several years with your existing staff, giving you a fair wage and sustenance for all involved, you decide you want a new house, you want to get to a million, so you hire new people to do the sales then to do the new work, all this is expensive as you are attempting to get more market share, depending on the performance of your new people and of your competition you might make it or you might end up unable to break that ceiling of 600,000 or if you do increase it may not be enough to cover the extra costs involved in getting there. There are other myths in business. I once had a pizzeria that really slowed around Christmas so I decided to shut it down and we all  took a month Holliday’s, I wanted to be in business but I wanted a balanced life as well. Everyone told me I would loose business, that my competion would gain, but every year for five years  I did it and when I reopened the numbers where the same. That little business grew every year until one of those chains moved to town and I lost 40% overnight. I was discouraged and sold it, it was still a good business and kept going for another five years t’il the new owner got sick and shut it down.Being in business is a very creative process when you buy a chain you just buy a job with no say in how things are done. That’s why I never support them they steal the worlds creativity, one bad product at a time.

Hi, "Sara in a Prius". You have shared a personal experience about More or less, or growing or shrinking, that puts a refreshing new twist on these Ideas. And from what I have seen in the "Cheap RV Living Movement", you are in good company, with this making room for yourself process.

Questions: Do you feel that you will be able to arrive at a balance in this quest?

Or do you imagine having to eventually increase your living space for personal well being?

Also, do you Sense that the balance you might achieve is of a dynamic nature...maybe having to make adjustments in your quest, constantly? (For example: Do you have to do something like take out the ice chest at night, before you go to sleep? And then put it back in in the morning, when you get up? Both actions would represent movement of an object to maintain comfort and utility in your daily Living.)

Thank you for your response.
Let me stick a pin in ALL of your questions about balance. The nature of balance seems very unknown to me right now - except to say that I am definitely not in it.

I will say that in my opinion the idea of "grow or shrink" has little to do with belongings or living space. I don't think many here would disagree that you can get more stuff or a bigger place and shrink as a person.

The owner valued balance over greed, imagine that. And took the time and care to develop a successor to carry on.

I know what works. That is because greed accomplishes equitable balance, like a form of reciprocity. I take care of members of the community because it is in my own best interest to do it that way. I'm constantly on the search for the best available craftsman. I pay them more than anyone else pays them around town, just to keep them. In the end it saves me money. They don't screw up and do it right the first time, always. They don't waste materials too. In the end it is best for me to hire the best and to pay the most. It's best for them too. They get the highest pay that says they are worth it. I also test apprentices to see if they are worth teaching the highest grade of skills. That too is worth it in the long run. I graduate them up in scale much faster than the usual learning curve. Once again in order to keep them. It's all about pragmatic greed. I don't have time for screwups. They can go work for my competitors.

Question: "MotorVation"? What do you mean in your remark, "Equal Opportunity B...."? This seems to add a new dimension to this discussion.

Thank you for your response.
Nope, you're reading into it. A closed AA meeting is for alkies only

I like to call overthinking in AA, 'alkybabble.' This reminds me of that only ya don't have to be an 'alky' to do it. Equal opportunity ********?

The AA meetings I attended were more blunt, called it "stupid thinking". That's what leads to alcoholic behavior. For others it leads to other problems.
