Thanks Cyndi!!!
I just checked this site out, WOW.
I can be in Quartzsite in less than 35 hrs. LOL
Now, onward and upward!!!
Getting to our planning!
Thanks again.

Cyndi, I don't know what Bob pays you for moderating this forum but it ain't enough. Thanks for the link..

Something most people don't realize about Freecampsites.net is that there is a trip planner option there.

Give it your start location and destination, tell it whether you want or don't want toll roads and interstates, select how far off the route you are willing to go to find a campsite and it will populate your route and all your choices along the route.

I then figure out how far I want to drive each day and pick maybe 2 or 3 campsites along the way as possibles. Then when it's getting near time to stop for the day, I can pick the one I want. Of course, some days I get further than I figured so the next day I have to re-plan where I'm stopping but I find it's fun to plan that way!

Love freecampsites.net and Cyndi does do an outstanding job and service on this forum keeping us informed in many areas. THANK YOU CYNDI!!!

Also would like to point out that the site works well with smartphones as long as you have a decent signal.
When you use the site be sure to leave a review of our campsite. That is how this site works!
Additionally, consider leaving a Google review of your campsite experience. These review really do help people make a decision.

HI - does anyone use Camping World for overnight in a car that's fully contained? I saw mixed reviews on Freecampsites.net, hence posting in this thread.

Thanks!

I made extensive use of the iOverlander app this past summer while on a road trip from Arizona to Michigan and back, as I have what amounts to an Android tablet in the dash of my truck (and will also have one in the van when I finish building it), so it was easier to use an app rather than a web site.

Just doing a cursory check, seems a lot of the places I found on that app aren't in the freecamping website, and it seems like it would be a lot harder to use "on the fly" so to speak when looking for spots nearby rather than some place you pre-planned to go to. In my case, I didn't have any particular destinations in mind, and only started looking for places to stay for the night in the late afternoon every day as I didn't know how far I'd feel like going every day. Worked great to be able to pull up a map based on my then current location to find places.

Though to be fair, I only used it for dispersed/boon docking sites....I will gladly go hours out of my way to avoid the traditional campgrounds. Further away from civilization and services, the better it is in my book. I also don't rigidly plan my days or how far I plan on driving every day, and often will take side trips along the way when I find interesting looking things/places.

Camping World cannot offer overnight camping in a community that has an ordinance that does not allow overnight camping. The city ordinance applies to private properties such as malls, shopping centers and lots at businesses such as Walmart, Camping World and other businesses that are not open all night.
