I would like to put an unused 2nd row seat from a conversion van on a base for use in our S&B. The bracket that the quick-release seat goes into is available. It would need to be screwed onto a platform to keep the seat upright. Would a piece of plywood, say 30" square, be enough to keep it from tipping over?

Unknown. It is a physics problem. Height, depth, weight, center of gravity, momentum, etc.

I was afraid of that... More experimentation on my to do list. I am skeptical, but 1) need a place to store one of those seats; and 2) really could stand to replace an armchair from the 70's.
