Hi,
I know that we are all trying very hard to minimize the use of plastic bags. I think we can all agree that if you have something small, like a half of an onion or something, putting it in a much larger tupperware type container doesn't do much to keep it fresh. You need to keep the "extra" air to a minimum.
I was using regular ziplock type bags and reusing them when possible, but they're pretty pricey.
I found "bread bags" at a local grocery store, and they seem to fit a need. They are very thin plastic, and come with zip ties (which as a guy I never use....) they are one size fit all, but because they are so thin and pliable you can squeeze them down to the size you need, spin 'em around a few times, and you have a great seal. They will fit some things that don't really store well any other way, especially if you are short of space. I use them for leftover everything.
