my dog and i used to live out of a backpack and sleep in a hammock (with tarp over it) in california and couch surf occasionally, i did that for about 6 months before returning home (east coast) for my mothers wedding and to get my lisence. note i was 18 at the time and diddent even have a permit, 19 now have permit just have to take lisence test.

at first i had my mind set on an older van, qutie cheap, then eventually realised i would be spending more on gas ans repairs then the van itself. so i looked into it and decided diesel would be my best choice.

rabbit pickup with cap is my first choice but very hard to find a relible cheap one.

diesel rabbit 4d- i would take out back seats and probrally the spare and mount on roof. and i plan on it just being me and my dog so i want to remove passenger seat so i can lay flat along oassenger side of car at night but im aware this is nowere near stealthy :/

last but not least a older toyota pickup with cap ok gas milage not diesel but has all the space i need and very stealthy

note i dont require a whole lot like a fridge or toilet.

i have a good amount of survival /camping gear and im a photographer so camera gear is part of it.

sorry if i rambled just trying to pick the right vehicle

Welcome Travish...Those Toyota pickups are a favorite up here in Alaska. Inexpensive to purchase, run, and repair, and seem to go forever. Good luck in what you find...Rae
