A previous post on Hydronic heating (https://vanlivingforum.com/Thread-Hydronic-Heating-Design) got me thinking on how to get free heat for several months.   One would need to be parked in the right location where they could construct a mid size (5'x5'x5' ?) compost pile.  They then need to run a dozen or so  loops of pex tubing  (inside pile)  and connect to their 'van size' Hydronic Heating system.  A small 3 watt pump could be used to circulate the hot water--up to 160F inside the pile.

Consider the many youtube videos that show setups for hot water showers-- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Jm-c9B2_ew for example.  Obviously this isn't practical for most of us, however someone with the resources (and acceptable location) might want to experiment.

they come up with a lot of great ideas!

 now to make it mobile:
Pull a trailer. Use a composting toilet. Build compost pile on trailer. Capture heat in water for cleaning. capture methane for fuel.  ;)
