We are heading to the central Oregon coast today for a month or more. We are going to Reedsport area first. Any fellow travelers in that area or heading that direction? We would love some CRVL company☺☺

I was out at the coast last week but now I'm in the desert.

One of my go-to places to stay is the marina at Winchester Bay, just down the road from Reedsport. It's not free, but there are showers. And I really like the pizza place.

Currently on the other side of the umpqua which I think is called the north spit. Free and empty

Thanks for the heads up on that free camping area. I will be down that way in September for most of that month before heading towards Arizona for the winter.

The access is Sparrow Park rd. About a mile north of Gardiner which is just north of Reedsport. The is a water crossing on The road which was up to my knee deep. About 20 ft across

Thinking of heading to norcal then the Oregon Coast next week.  delayed because of norcal fires.  any great free campsites you recommend?  Will be in my pickup, might build out a bed and storage before i go.

Hi. I'm in Washington (my own land) on a slough that connects to the Columbia River about 30 miles inland from coast. I'll be heading south end of the month. Are you planning to travel further north via 101 up Oregon coast towards Astoria Oregon?

Free spots on the north Oregon coast (Astoria, Cannon Beach, etc.) are hard to find. But the further south you go on the coast, the easier they are to find.  Buy the detailed DeLorme atlas for Oregon. At the end of the day on the southern OR coast, find some forest roads heading inland and follow them. Campsites on NF land, at least for smaller rigs, can often be found using this method.

My info is 4 years old, so verify before counting on it.

The casino in Florence is pretty good for a casino that allows RVs to overnight. There are a couple of free NF campgrounds in the general area, but they tend to be trashed.

A casino 10 miles south of the (OR/CA) border isn't too bad.

Just got back after a week near Cape Perpetua just south of Yachats. Camped 4 nights at Neptune day use area and 2 nights at Cummins Creek trailhead on FS road 1055. Also spent last night at Muiel Posler day area. Never got bothered once. Not very heavily patrolled in that region.
