Ford Econoline HIGH TOP ROOF
1990 Ford Econoline Cargo Van with High Top Roof - 82K Miles - Solid Truck and Runs Great! $3500 Cash Van has 7.4 L Diesel Engine Automatic Transmission - Current Inspection, Clean Body and Clean Interior well maintained and ready for work. My mechanic told me this 7.4 Diesel engine is sought after and that he has seen guys buy wrecked vans just for the engine. The van also has dual diesel tanks, this van is a true workhorse. The Hightop Roof has vented windows and I'm 6' tall and can stand comfortably in the van. Also has nice storage compartment above the cab with access from inside the van. Sliding Door, and Rear Barn Doors allow for easy access to tools and equipment.

The miles are low, its a diesel which I like for power and fuel economy and a hightop.
He posted another posting earlier with the van for $2800 so I think there is some wiggle room in the price also.

the downside, I need to either trade or sell my rv and get this. Both would have to happen quickly, and its 3 hours away and i only have the rv, no regular car. So getting there is a problem unless he wants to trade.

I would say if you have the opportunity to get it, Go for it! That puppy aint even broke in yet!! If the rest of it is in as good a shape as the pics look and engine sounds, its a gem.

Not bad, I think i would try to get him down under 3k though.

That looks like a Great Buy, even at the asking price, when you look at even a few yrs newer vehicles.

Very cool!

I let a high top diesel like that slip through my fingers last summer. :-(

Judging by the side door window withe the ledge and the PA speaker, it looks like it may have been an ice cream truck in a former life.

Looks Great! Diesel and only 82k miles. Sounds great too. Is there any chance he may be interested in a trade for your RV?

Oops - did not catch your thought about trading at the beginning of the thread...

This one isn't going to happen. He just posted it today , he said his phone is blowing up. He has an RV, stop a trade is out. And i wouldn't be able to even see it until next weekend.

Oh well. I'll find something closer to me soon enough

But it was an ice cream truck, ha. He said the PA still works and plays the music

82k on an ice cream truck. That means a LOT of idling and low rpms. Not good for a diesel. Missing out on it may be a blessing in disguise. Diesel repairs are expen$ive.

Good luck - you'll find something.
