Onboard Propane works sometimes, then not

Thanks to you, too, deadwood.  Since the regulator was mentioned so many times here, I left a message for the guys who installed the tank, to let me know if they remember putting a new regulator in.  I also will go through my receipts looking for that.

Then I am going to get underneath and look around for anything that looks weird, per Trebor English, and take photos under there.

I appreciate y'all.

Did someone purge the propane line after the new tank installation?

If you don't know already, air is purged by using the farthest stove burner from the tank (on my rigs) open it up and when it stays lit all of the air should be out.

You need to do this if you ever run out of propane. Have windows open, etc..

This costs you nothing, and as I said, you may need to do it yourself at some point.

Regarding a forward button in a web browser. You should see a right pointing forward button next to the back button on the browser menu.

If the text is disappearing because of an accidental back up, the forward button should be enabled (highlighted by color).

That said I have never seen a W10 screen or Edge browser. Who knows what they think is IN for user interface now.

I bailed on Firefox and Ubuntu when they changed the UI just because. I use Xfce and Pale Moon on whatever Linux that has what I want and need.

Thanks, Wayne, for the info about purging the line.  I did not know that.  I have used the appliances with the new tank for over a year, then let them inactive for at least 6 months, and when recently trying to light them, have this problem.

I was able to contact the guys who installed the tank, and they think they did install a new regulator and hose, as well.

So one of them is coming by next week to see if he can remedy this.

You are sure there is propane in the tank and that the valve is opened fully? I ask because the lines would hold pressure if charged and then the valve was closed. Depending on how big the system is, it could run the refrigerator or stove for a little while. The stove acting as you say is how mine acts when it is time to change the bottle.

I use to turn a tank on with a distribution tree with a lantern on top and hoses to the stove and grille. I would turn the valve on and off and then light the lantern, it would burn for hours going out on its own when the gas ran out.

Hi jimindenver.  I am sure there is propane in the tank.  While on my trip escaping hurricane Irma and having this problem, I stopped at a Flying J with a propane service and told the tech that I was sure there was propane when I last knew, but maybe I had a leak.  So he tried to fill it, and only got about a gallon in.  He said, "This is full".  And he didn't charge me because of how little it took.

About whether the valve is completely open, I do know how to operate this, but maybe I am not paying enough attention. The thing that makes me curious is, I was able to cook with it for a good 10-15 minutes one time, then it petered out the next time after a few seconds, then would not light at all.  And the refrigerator initially lighted but flame went out, and now will not light again either.

I will make sure to open the valve fully tomorrow and see if a difference.  I thought I did, but who knows.  Thank you.
