Basenji...Unfortunately they are rare and expensive. There are others, but mostly lap dogs. I'd want an active dog that could go for walks in the woods or along the beach without a bird of prey snatching it off the beach. Saw this beautiful girl and in one of the photos, she's sitting in a car seat, which gives me the impression she likes to ride. She's also listed as an active puppy, which would be good.

I value intamacy much more now, but the pool of people that truly interest me is much smaller!

I understand that. Not that I was ever into "casual" encounters...I wasn't for safety (health) reasons, but these days I would definitely be more "selective" with who I shared intimacy with.

"I want connection with people like that, and intimate connection too. Like the biosphere where everything is connected, it is sad to be isolated and lonely--and many are that way in relationships which is saddest of all. As I get older, I crave more symbiotic connection and (like someone else in this thread said) snuggling in whatever form or shape that takes. In a healthy ecosystem, one that is thriving, connections build each other up via trust and shared responsibility. The relationships energize. They are fun and valuable. Age does not diminish the desire for that."

Wish there was some way to 'love' this more.

FYI, for us older gents Testosterone replacement and estrogen blockers will make your world look totally different. Trust me.
