Back to the drawing board, I liked my boxvan, but it was just going to be too big, Thought about going with a cargo trailer and after looking at a few they are not build much better than shitty ass RVs so i got to looking and found  the Goldilocks option, an E250 cargo van, heavy duty enough, cheap to maintain, should get fairly decent MPG and If it gets stuck wouldn't require a Sikorsky sky crane to get it out.   Pick this little guy up tomorrow.
5.4 4r100 and 3.73s

Probably a good thing too because it had almost 300k and I suspect the transmission had problems. and It looked like the steering box might have been leaking also.

Congrats -- Looks Great!

I see your E250 has the heavier-duty rear axle, same as the E350, and just the right amount of windows IMO.

Also I notice you're going with the deluxe leather seat option. Whooa! :)

Just Curious, you bought a low roof van. I assume your back is in great shape. I can see several advantages: more for sale, less air resistance and side wind effects, and maybe not used as hard as a high roof, one ton commercial van. What were your reasons for choosing that roof height?

One more question: Would you consider putting in a locker rear end?

Looks like the standard issue, semi floating probably Dana 60 or some Sterling rear to me. The 350s could have a full floater. Perhaps you are thinking about the 1/2 ton 150? The last few years of them were different, but mostly they had five lugs.

I got a low roof due to 1 this being the newest around my area for what I wanted to pay. Back isn't in that great of shape but I don't plan on being in the van all day. If I'm not out hiking or enjoying a beach I will more than likely be sitting in the passenger seat or laying down . Correction on the trans turns out it's a 4r75 not a 4r100 but yes it has the Dana 60 semi floater with 3.73s. I'll update more in the AM.

You could always pull one of these: https://www.weeroll.com/

I
almost went that route, but found a hightop I'm building out instead.

I liked those trailers as they have what seems to be the best construction; especially for the price.

I almost pulled the trigger on a 7x14 but the guy wouldn't come down 250 bucks off his price for a used and slightly damaged trailer .

Sorry folks, i thought I put a link for my latest vids , I have uploaded 3 new vids about working on the van.

Please Like and subscribe .. Thanks. feel free to comment with Any ideas you might have for some future content.

Well transmission is rebuilt and has about a 100 miles on it and is sooo nice the way it shifts now that's it's refreshed and a transgo shift correction
Kit is installed. It got 13.2mpg with the transmission not being right and driving it mostly around town short trips.

congrats on the van, jimbo.... but you didn't trade in the trans am for it, did you?

i'll watch your video... i got the same basic van... swing out doors, windows only in back and front. i see you got side windows; i got no side windows. i would like to do stealth... even where i live (bay area) i am definitely concerned w people busting in... my back sucks too, but i'm only 5'6" and 64... i think it will be ok in a regular top..... trying to figure out how to sit comfortably, etc...
