Anyone want to camp together for safety and companionship in Cali this summer?

I love Crescent City but Mendo is nice too.

Let's share. It'll be fun.

You (expletive deleted)!!! Now I have to figure out how to live to be 60 because I WANNA MEET YOU!!!!!!!

(long string of expletives deleted as security is quickly called to haul Sovryn away kicking and screaming)

The only beaches I'll see this summer are those on the riverbank. Yes, there are little beaches there, every now and then. I named one of them... Prosperity Beach... it is at one of the mining claims.

Brookings, Oregon and the southern Oregon coast are also nice. The north spit/jetty (camping in some areas) and south spit/jetty (day use only) of Humboldt Bay, the coast between Eureka and Crescent City, the coast around Fort Bragg and the coast generally in Mendocino, Humboldt and Del Norte counties are all great. Redwood Creek Dispersed Camping

We are parked at Crescent City Pier NOW !............Later we'll be at the Elk Valley Casino for a couple nites
I would be there by sunset if gas wasn't so expensive. 🤣

But so is debt. If I buy back my soul from Bank of America on Monday, I guess I don't really have to throw away my body after all.

/dork

I'm in a minivan so Casinos are out for sleeping, but I like food. PM me if you'll be around for awhile. 😁

I'm mainly posting Humboldt County Fair & RV Park because of the photo of the interesting trucks. I saw a similar vehicle parked at the Safeway in Fort Bragg (California) a few years ago. I like Ferndale a great deal but $20/day (25 day limit) for "RV dry camping" might be a bit steep for some; there are some nice shops and eateries in Ferndale. I don't know about parking/camping at Bear River Casino Resort in Loleta. I also don't know if one can camp at Samoa Cookhouse but they have a large gravel parking lot; I lived in Manila one summer almost 50 years ago.

Looks like the Elk Valley Casino does not like Vans anymore.....guess they used to "hide us outback"........we'll spend the nite and head North into Oregon

Sovryn, if I don't get any volunteers for my Northern Arizona invite, I'm there. It's summertime and I want sand between my toes.

It might be 2 weeks to a month, though. I paid for my current campsite up to the 21st, and after that I'm home free. Home free....haha, I made a funny.

My plate and registration match, btw. :D
That's about all I want to do when I grow up, lol.

I loved AZ when I was there, but I think I was sixteen???

So the verdict on Humboldt is don't. I needed to get stuff out of storage in Eureka and got run off the road in Manila.

It would have been infinitely worse for my temporary family in Mendo with their motorhomes and pensions.

Crescent City appears to have had a similar...um ...shall we politely call it a "political event"?..... according to the free campsite app.

Gualala was scary. Point Arena feels safe but there's nowhere left to go.

Told my story to "the proper authorities" because people were still visiting the US from the real world back then.

Cali is starting to look like Kali. It destroyed everything I ever loved but unfortunately a broken heart continues to beat.

Baja might still be nice, though; it's only Alta that turned....well, the way milk turns.

Wowza. Thanks for the heads-up. That's really unfortunate. I have been looking at Eureka in particular for a long time.

Before you posted, I was about to go up there regardless, but now it's looking like OR. I might ditch my roofbag at a storage facility in Medford and stealth camp (I have a modified SUV).

Any thoughts about OR / WA?

There is no such thing as stealth camping.

Just remember that all those places are small communities and a stranger stands out. Think of it as a modern day Mayberry.

Yeah, I get it. I wouldn't dare try to stealth camp in Kanab (near to where I am now). The town is asleep by 10:30 pm, the 4-way traffic lights start flashing and the police are bored (who can blame them?).

I didn't mean stealth camping in the small beach towns per se; I visited the OR coast once and there are some options, like forested areas immediately off the coast. I know what to do.

Everything's going away.....pretty soon everyone will be banished to some hole in the desert. Fun times.

Lots of beach in the South West the ocean just dried up!!! Lol Stay away from my hole in the desert dang it!

I'm sorry, but it beats getting burned alive by people who were not even given enough education to know what a "witch hunt" is.

Please stay away from Cali and don't do drugs.

I'm glad I started this thread because one person was listening.

Caravan out of Cali, anyone?
