Soy lecithin should be no concern to anyone who consumes decaffinated coffee.

Butternut, I read where u heated water by leaving a water bottle on top of your car. Have you tried making soup this way? Get some broth, throw in a few veggies and whatever else you want, leave it in a sealed container in the sun for a few hours voila! Soup for dinner.

No joke. It works. I'm in Florida, the <i>air</i> is over 100 degrees.<br>I'll have to put a thermometer on my hood and get a reading for you guys.<br>"wash the bugs off" - Nah, those are protein. <br>"taste of wax" - I never wax my truck.<br>"wipe with alcohol" - Any cootie that can survive the hellish temps of my steel hood is<i> not</i> going to be killed by mere alcohol!<br><br>Cooking With Ash:&nbsp; "Listen up all you Primitive Screwheads....!"<br><br>

Food, economy and humor in the same thread- what more could a vanner want?<br>The difficulty I see is in getting the hood level- i like my bannock symmetrical.....gonna be a bear on Lurch(95 chevy van) may have to have a step ladder and use the roof...<img src="https://vanlivingforum.com/images/boards/smilies/biggrin.gif" align="absmiddle" border="0"> Think I'll just stay where its cooler and burn propane or wood for my cookin'.<br>&nbsp;I do like ingenuity and thinking outside the box in general though.<br><br>

i've "cooked" alot of stuff in my smartmug that plugs into my cigarette lighter, and with one of those little 12V heating coils in a mug......it doesn't really boil, but gets up a good simmer pretty quickly, to hasten the prep of ramen, coucous, cup-a-soup, etc. http://www.amazon.com/Smart-Mug-Temperature-Control-Red/dp/B000F1Q24M i've seen these cheaper: http://safetycentral.com/12volheatelh.html also great for coffee, tea, hot chocolate.....
Even better...

and by "better" I mean cheaper. Hooray for wallyworld.
