I'm new here, so let me introduce myself and say Hi. :)

I'm 55 and have been fulltime van-dwelling for 18 months now, spent many years in my younger days as a backpacker and hiker. Now I work as an editor for a small publishing company, and am (of course) working ona  book about the van-dwelling experience. Am originally from Pennsylvania, lived in Florida for almost 20 years, and now van-trip around the country from city to city, spending about a month in each town before moving on.

Hi. :)

Welcome to the CRVL forums lenny! You must have some good stories! Care to share a few while we're waiting for your book to be published?

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome, Lenny!

Sounds like you've got it down for full-time living. I imagine you will have a lot to contribute here, yet you'll find a lot interesting new ideas and questions, too.

RVPopeye will show up and ask for pics of your rig, so maybe I'll just beat him to it. If you care to share.

I never stayed so long in one place when full-timing, so are you incorporating town-specific info in your book?

Welcome aboard and I'm STILL gonna ask for pictures !

The book will be half "how-to" with info on stuff like van cooking, electricity, and keeping warm and cool at night. The other half will be stories of unusual and interesting people and places along the way, such as the Peregrine Falcon I helped rescue in Nashville TN, the B-52 pilot I met in Columbus OH, and my quest for flying saucers and Hangar 18 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

Well, Ziggy the Snail Shell is built for stealth Walmart camping, so she's not much to look at. But here she is parked at Pictograph Cave in Montana:
