New to forumn

Hello I am a 50's aged guy checking out my options in the nomad world. I have a long bed truck with topper that I have camped in infrequently. I have experience backpacking over several days in areas around Lone Pine and Big Pine. My family connections are Riverside Ca. , Phoenix Az. and  El Paso Tx. area. so I'm always southwest.
I work part time these days and have some control over my schedule usually. I have been viewing Bob's videos often for maybe a few years and plan to attend upcoming gathering in a few weeks.  I have plenty of fears over all aspects of change and certainly new to something like this.
