Ok so howdy! lol

I really don't know what to start out with as my brain is very full of info that I have been reading. so... um... yeah... HI!!

Thanks! We are doing so. I am going to have so many questions at some point! lol
My partner is looking at conversion vans. I'm on disability, and she has filed. Just waiting (very impatiently) for her to get approved, and then we will buy a van, or a class C.

I am looking at the info on solar panels and that totally has my mind boggled. lol

Greetings and welcome! Don't worry about the overwhelmed feeling. Solar is actually pretty easy once you start checking into it. There is also a lot of knowledge and expertise here - people are more than willing to assist you along the way.

Have fun!

V.T.

Awesome, and thank you! I am hoping by the time we get done buying and modifying that we will have everything we need.

Oh and some questions... Is a lot of people boon docking or do most stay in cheaper places? BLM, and the others? Not sure what these are as all I have seen is the letters.

It really varies. I live in the city in my dad's driveway most of the time. When out and about exploring, I stay at rest areas, in Walmart parking lots, casinos, college towns, etc. During the cold months, campgrounds are great for electricity. During warmer months, I would rather camp for free.

There are lots of BLM people here, too. Some day I would love to go that route.

Each person here is unique in terms of life circumstance, type of vehicle, gender and relationship, resources, technical knowledge, etc... It's definitely a very diverse crowd.

V.T.

Awesome! I can't wait to get this all figured out.

can shed some light on that BLM is used to refer to Bureau of land management, a government agency that manages alot of the federal property in the western half of the country, NFS is national forest service.. alot of forestland falls under thier management, and there are alot of places you can 'dispersed' camp for 14 days at a time.. of course, the clock on that 14 days might not actually start untill they find you there..

I primarily boondock, I can take the city for a few days at a time, but living with a dog as I do, find that I worry about her, and it just seems to obvious to me to be getting in and out of a vehicle with a dog.. if I could just park and not draw attention to myself, I might do more in towns.

I've paid for one night in a campground in the past few years.. they had showers there! of course, wasnt till after I paid that I found out they were broken

Hey Pax, welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here. So exciting that you and your partner will be jumping into the full time lifestyle. Good luck with sorting everything out.

Thanks, and sorry I haven't replied more on here. Just been busy getting some things taken care of. My partner didn't get her disability, so we would have to just live on my income. We have 3 pups so of course they would be going with us everywhere. Just still trying to figure everything out. :)

Glad you are here. It will all work out. Nothing ever followed my original plans either. So.etimes the alternatives were better :)
