I just signed up. I don't remember where I first heard about Bob. I have enjoyed his videos on you tube, as well as his book. I hope to start enjoying the van life part time, to begin with, as soon as I find a van. I retired from the military, and I will be retiring again 22 Nov. 2016 from my present job with DHS. Looking foward to learning alot about this living in a van business. 
I don't think this is the proper place to ask this, but, I found a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 high top conversion van, 1 owner, 79000 mi. $6800. Can anyone tell me if this would be a good place to start? Any info. Is appreciated.

I'm sure someone here will be able to advise you on that Van.   The miles are certainly low enough and with it being a high top it would likely be a good rig....provided it is in good condition.  As per the value,  again others may know more about that.

Is it a high top conversion, meaning about 18-24" of fiberglass roof or is it simply a conversion top which is about 16" or so of fiberglass?

Can you properly stand up inside? About 6' tall or so?

I just purchased an 03 Dodge Ram Van B1500 with 103,000 on it. Runs good, pulls strong, new tires for $2500. Needs a few things fixed but overall in good shape.

Mine has the lower conversion van roof....... If yours is taller there will be more value there (and a higher price) .......

Without more info, it sounds like a decent deal.
