Hey everybody!

I'm a 34 year old office worker, and I have been completely in love with the idea of living in a tiny home for a while now. I have student loans, and they are killing me, so the idea of lightening my financial load sounded pretty sweet. The only problem was, I had no place to put the home when I went to work. Then I found out about Van dwelling, and I was all over that! So now I have purchased an '88 Chevy G30 Cargo Van, and this weekend I start working on it. I am extremely excited. The van is in rough shape. Rusty spots all over it, holes in the floor of the cargo bay, cracked window, ect. I know, I kind of got boned. But the engine and transmission are fairly new, only 57,000 miles, so its really just a lot of cosmetic work that needs doing.

So thats me! Looking forward to seeing what this forum has to offer, and meeting some new people in the process.

Welcome to the CRVL Forum :)

That's a good enough rig to get you going and learn on.
Depending on what you intend to do, where you intend to live
and work,  etc  you can basically outfit your Van to get started
with a plywood floor with carpet,  a kitchenette, and curtain behind
the seats for the most basic set up.

You're welcome to check out my sites below to see how I got started.

Good luck with your build and there is info galore here  that will get you
suited up for what ever climate you intend to endure.

Hey Fizz, I am back and forth between NYC and Norwalk CT. I don't know where you are in CT but if you're close by, get in touch with me and I'd love to come see a fellow van dweller and check out your rig etc.

Find me at www.jbigsmedia.com. I have contact info there as well.

Best.

Sounds great! I'm living in Hampton right now, but once my rig is ready I'll be in Manchester. Either way, I would totally be up for meeting up and comparing our setups. Give me a month or so to get everything finished up and settled in, and I'll take you up on that!

Thank for the warm welcome!
