Hello, I have been living in a dodge conversion van for over 6 years. I am now looking to upgrade to a hightop. I have been mainly hanging out in the southeast, but am looking forward to branching out and spending more time out west and up north.

What do you guys think about the 6.9 liter Ford Diesel? I am seriously considering buying this.

Supposedly the same engine as the early international 7.3 and purportedly a good engine. Do some research.

Ok, I have worked on the 7.3 and that is a good motor. Thanks.

I believe it's the direct predecessor of the 7.3 and is also an International Harvester engine. It's a good engine but not real powerful. But it will be super simple to work on compared to newer diesels.

That looks like a great deal, but with those old commercial vans you need to be ready to put money into it. The thing is it's so cheap it's hard to go wrong, especially since it sounds like you can do the repair work on it yourself.

I'd definitely go look at it it if I were you.

Thanks for the warm welcome all. Unfortunately I wont be in the Ocala area until Thursday. I am hoping it will still be there then. I also called him to see if he would post some interior pics.

That is what they taught me in the navy. I was a CM2 SeaBee for 6 years.

Have you lived in your Van in Florida? Wow. I'm in Tallahassee and the heat index is 108 or so with very high humidity, of course. If I was full time, I wouldn't be able to be in the van until late at night comfortably or plugged in.

Yes I have and currently do. At this moment I am in Orlando and it is very hot/humid. I usually go to sleep around 10pm and I use a 3 fan set up. Intake fan, exhaust fan and the third fan blowing right on me. I use rechargeable batteries to power all three and charge the batteries when I am in a shop/cafe on the internet. Like right now.
