Hello, my name is Drew, I have owned several VW campers in my lifetime but I just acquired my first American made conversion van. It’s a 1987 Dodge “ Family Wagon “, they were built in Irwindale CA, a few miles from where I grew up. I remember seeing many of them back in the day. Does anyone else remember them? I can only find a couple of YouTube videos and some old Brochures on eBay. If anyone out there has one I’d love to hear from you, thanks.

Welcome to the CRVL forums Greenman! Congratulations on your new van!

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome Green man- don't know family wagon. Does it have a pop up? I wish I still had my VW Bus. The wife hated it - no heater (so to speak) She said its me or the VW - boy, I'm going to miss that women. joking - but sometimes I think the VW would have been better.

one of the best ways to research the history for a specific RV when you know the location where the company who did the work was located is
look through the business newspaper archives for that area during the years that the RV was being produced. Many times such archives are on the internet. Your first step will be to find out what the name of that business newspaper was. One valuable resource assistant you can tap into is the reference librarian for the public library in the city where the business was located. They often have access to newspaper archives as well as the archives for the local business license registry. The job of a reference librarian is to help people locate information :)
